Roblox Error Codes and How to Fix Them

A Roblox error code is a number that tells you why the Roblox client lost, or never made, its connection to a game server. The number matters, because each one points at a different culprit: your network, your app, your account or the game you tried to join.

How to read a Roblox error code

Roblox error codes fall into 3 families, and the first digit tells you which one you have.

  1. 2xx codes (260-292) are connection and session problems: the client could not reach the server, lost it mid-game, or was disconnected on purpose.
  2. 5xx codes (517-529) are join problems: you reached Roblox, but you are not allowed into that server, or Roblox’s own services are failing.
  3. 7xx codes (769-773) are teleport problems: a game tried to move you to another place and the move failed.

Fixes that solve most codes

Before opening the page for your code, run through the fixes that clear the majority of them.

  • Close Roblox completely and open it again.
  • Check status.roblox.com to see whether Roblox itself is down.
  • Restart your router and turn off any VPN or proxy.
  • Update the Roblox app, or uninstall and reinstall it.

If the error comes back, find your code below.
