The full message reads:
Same account launched experience from different devices. Reconnect if you prefer to use this device. (Error Code: 264)
What causes Roblox error code 264?
Error code 264 has 4 common causes:
- You opened Roblox on a second device, such as a phone and a PC, with the same account.
- You opened a second Roblox window or browser tab on the same computer.
- You rejoined very quickly after a disconnect, before the old session had closed.
- Someone else is logged in to your account.
How to fix Roblox error code 264
Try these 4 fixes in order, and test after each one:
- Close Roblox on every other device and window, then press Reconnect on the device you want to use.
- Wait one or two minutes before rejoining, so the old session can expire.
- Log out of every other session: go to Settings > Security and choose Log out of all other sessions.
- If you did not open the other session yourself, change your password right away and turn on 2-step verification.
Check status.roblox.com first. If Roblox reports an outage, no fix on your side will help, and the error goes away once Roblox recovers.
Frequently asked questions
Can I play Roblox on two devices at once?
Not with the same account. One account can run one game session at a time; the second launch disconnects the first with error 264.
Does error 264 mean my account was hacked?
Usually not; it is almost always your own second device. If no other device of yours was open, treat it as a warning and secure your account.
