How to Play Roblox on a Chromebook
You play Roblox on a Chromebook by installing the Roblox app from the Google Play Store, the same app that runs on Android phones. Most Chromebooks made in recent years support it.
How to install Roblox on a Chromebook
- Open the Google Play Store from the Chromebook’s launcher.
- Search for Roblox.
- Select Install.
- Open Roblox and log in with your account.
If the Play Store is missing, open Settings > Apps > Google Play Store and turn it on.
What does a Chromebook need to run Roblox?
Roblox’s help center lists ChromeOS version 53 or later, and the Chromebook must support Android apps from the Play Store. Roblox also recommends an internet connection of at least 4 to 8 Mb/s. Low-end Chromebooks run lighter games smoothly but struggle with detailed ones; lowering the graphics quality in Roblox’s settings helps.
Can you play Roblox on a school Chromebook?
Usually not. School Chromebooks are managed by the school, which controls whether the Play Store and games are allowed. If Roblox is blocked, only the school’s administrator can allow it.
Can you make games on a Chromebook?
The Roblox app plays games but does not include Roblox Studio, which runs only on Windows and Mac. See Roblox Studio on a Chromebook for the workarounds.
