How to Change Your Display Name on Roblox

You change your Roblox display name for free in your account settings: open Settings, go to Account Info, select the pencil icon next to your display name, type the new one and save. Your display name is the name other players see; your username stays the same.
Display name or username?
Roblox accounts have 2 names, and they work differently:

How to change your display name
- Log in on roblox.com or in the Roblox app.
- Open Settings and go to Account Info.
- Select the pencil icon next to your display name. Some accounts see it labeled Name.
- Enter the new display name and save.
Why was my display name rejected?
Display names go through Roblox’s text filter, like chat. A name is rejected when it contains words the filter blocks, personal information, or characters Roblox does not support. Try a simpler name.
Can I change my display name again right away?
No. Roblox limits how often you can change your display name, so choose carefully. The settings page shows when you can change it next.
