Why Is Roblox So Laggy? 8 Fixes That Work

By Blox Handbook•

Roblox lags for one of two reasons: your device cannot draw the game fast enough, which shows as stuttering and low frame rate, or your connection to the game server is slow, which shows as rubber-banding and delayed actions. Each has different fixes.

8 fixes for a laggy Roblox

  1. Lower the graphics quality. In the in-game settings, set Graphics Mode to manual and move the quality slider down.
  2. Close other apps and browser tabs, especially on phones and older laptops.
  3. Use a wired connection or move closer to the router.
  4. Pause downloads and streams on other devices on the same network.
  5. Restart the device, which clears memory leaks from long sessions.
  6. Update Roblox and your graphics drivers; see how to update Roblox.
  7. Clear the Roblox cache if loading is slow; see how to clear the Roblox cache.
  8. Try another server of the same game, since one server can be overloaded.

Why is Roblox laggy even with good internet?

Good internet only removes network lag. If the screen stutters, the bottleneck is your device’s processor or graphics chip, and lowering the graphics quality is the fix that helps most.

Does Roblox need a fast connection?

Not very. Roblox recommends at least 4 to 8 Mb/s for one person. Stability matters more than speed: a connection that drops packets causes more lag than a slow one, and repeated drops lead to errors such as 277.
