Roblox Studio AI: What Roblox Assistant Can Do in 2026

By Blox Handbook•

Roblox Studio’s built-in AI is called Roblox Assistant. It can write and explain Luau code, build parts of your game, and, since 2026, plan and test changes on its own through agentic workflows. It is included in Roblox Studio at no extra cost.

What can Roblox Assistant do?

You talk to Assistant in a chat panel inside Studio. It handles 4 kinds of task:

  • Write code: describe what a script should do, and Assistant writes it in Luau.
  • Explain code: select a script and ask what it does, or why it fails.
  • Build: ask it to create or change objects in your game.
  • Plan and test: in April 2026, Roblox added agentic features that let Assistant plan a change, carry it out and test the result.

How widely is it used?

Roblox reported in April 2026 that 44% of the top 1,000 creators on Roblox were using Roblox Assistant or third-party AI tools connected to Studio to plan, build and test their games.

Can you use other AI tools with Roblox Studio?

Yes. Roblox Studio has a built-in MCP server, a standard connection that lets outside AI tools read your project and act in Studio. Roblox names Claude, Cursor and Codex among the tools creators use this way.

Is there an AI game maker for mobile?

Roblox is testing Build, an AI creation tab in the Roblox mobile app that turns a text prompt into a basic playable game. It began a public alpha in New Zealand on July 28, 2026; see Roblox Studio on mobile.

Should beginners use Roblox Assistant?

It helps, as long as you read what it writes. Asking Assistant to explain each line of a script it produced is one of the fastest ways to learn Luau. Pair it with our guide on how to script on Roblox.
