How to Make a Decal on Roblox

You make a decal on Roblox by uploading an image to your account and applying it to one face of a part in Roblox Studio. A decal is an image stuck on a surface, like a poster on a wall or a logo on a sign.
How to upload an image for a decal
You can upload images in 2 places:
- In Roblox Studio, through the Asset Manager or the Toolbox, which is the quickest way while you are building.
- In the Creator Hub at create.roblox.com, under your creations.
Uploaded images go through moderation before they appear. Use PNG or JPG files, and make the image square or close to it if it will cover a square face.
How to put a decal on a part
- Select a part in your game.
- In the Explorer, right-click the part and choose Insert Object > Decal.
- In Properties, set Texture to your uploaded image.
- Set Face to the side of the part the decal should appear on (Front, Back, Top, Bottom, Left or Right).
What is the difference between a decal and a texture?
Both put an image on a part, but they behave differently:

Why is my decal not showing?
A decal usually fails to show for one of 3 reasons: it is still in moderation, it was rejected by moderation, or it is on a face of the part you are not looking at. Check the Face property first.
