Can You Use Roblox Studio on Mobile?

No, Roblox Studio does not run on phones or tablets. The official Roblox Studio app exists only for Windows and macOS, so you cannot install it on an iPhone, an iPad or an Android device. There are 3 ways to create on mobile anyway.

1. Build, Roblox’s mobile creation tab

On July 16, 2026, Roblox announced Build, a mobile-first creation tab inside the Roblox app. You describe a game in text, and Build’s AI tools generate a playable starting point that you can then change, test and share.

Build is still being tested. Roblox began a public alpha on July 28, 2026, in New Zealand only, with these rules:

  • Users aged 9 and older who have verified their age can create.
  • Only users aged 16 and older can publish their creations publicly.
  • A base version is free, with paid options for heavier use.

Roblox says Build shares its back end with Roblox Studio, so a project started on a phone can be continued in Studio on a computer. It will reach more regions over time.

2. Studio Lite, a game made by players

Studio Lite is a Roblox experience that recreates a simplified building editor for touch screens. You open it like any other game from the Roblox app. It is not made by Roblox and it is not the real Studio, but it lets you build and test simple ideas on a phone.

3. Remote desktop to a computer

If you have a Windows PC or a Mac at home, a remote desktop app lets you control Roblox Studio from a tablet. It works, but a touch screen is awkward for precise building and scripting, so it is best for small edits.

Can you use Roblox Studio on an iPad?

Not directly. An iPad is treated like any other mobile device, so the options are the same three: Build (where it is available), Studio Lite, or remote access to a computer.
