Roblox Studio Plugins: How to Find, Install and Use Them
By Blox Handbook•
Roblox Studio plugins are add-ons that give Studio new tools, such as better building controls, terrain tools or code helpers. You install them from the Creator Store, and they appear in Studio’s Plugins tab.
How to install a Roblox Studio plugin
Installing a plugin takes 4 steps:
- Open Roblox Studio.
- Open the Toolbox and switch to the Creator Store plugins category, or browse plugins on the Creator Store website.
- Select a plugin and choose Install. Paid plugins ask you to buy them first.
- Open the Plugins tab in Studio, where the plugin’s buttons now appear.
How to manage or remove plugins
Open Manage Plugins from the Plugins tab. From there you can turn a plugin off, update it, or uninstall it. Turning off plugins you are not using makes Studio start faster.
What kinds of plugins are most useful?
Creators rely on 4 kinds of plugins most:
- Building tools that move, align and resize parts more precisely than Studio’s defaults.
- Terrain and environment tools for landscapes.
- Animation tools for rigs and characters.
- Code tools for formatting, searching and organizing scripts.
Are Roblox Studio plugins safe?
Most are, but a plugin can run code in your game, so a malicious one can insert hidden scripts or backdoors. Protect your games with 4 habits:
- Prefer plugins with many installs and good reviews.
- Check that the creator is well known in the Roblox community.
- Be wary of free copies of famous paid plugins.
- After installing a new plugin, search your game for scripts you did not write.
Roblox Studio’s own AI helper, Assistant, is built in and needs no plugin; see Roblox Studio AI.
